When: 7:30-10:00, Wednesday 21 March
Where: Conference Room, North Campus Student Union (Barnes Wallis Building)
Synopsis: Four friends/fledgling entrepreneurs, knowing that there’s something bigger and more innovative than the different error-checking devices they’ve built, wrestle over their new invention: a working time machine.
Primer is of note for its extremely low budget, experimental plot structure, philosophical implications, and complex technical dialogue, which the director Shane Carruth chose not to simplify for the sake of his audience. One reviewer said that “anybody who claims he fully understands what’s going on in Primer after seeing it just once is either a savant or a liar.” (Wikipedia)
